Youth safety is the No. 1 concern of the BSA

Calling all Troop 654 Adults. It's March! It's time to begin to think about any training you might need for Spring and Summer activities.

We had a great session March 1st with Craig Johnson. Twenty-two adults from our Troop are now certified in First Aid/CPR rescue techniques.

Other classes you might be interested in taking:

Boy Scout Leader Specific Training. This is an all day class (8am - 5pm) which will be taught this Saturday, March 3. If you miss that one, it will be held again on Saturday May 19.

Paddle Craft Safety. This is a half day class (9am-noon) which will be taught this Saturday, March 3 and again on Saturday, April 25. This is the classroom portion of this training.

Swimming and Water Rescue. This is a half day class (9am-noon) which will be taught Saturday, March 31 and again on Saturday May 26. This is the classroom portion of this training.

For more information go to www.boyscouts-ncac.org. Click on calendar and go to the NCAC-Colonial District page.

When you complete any training, please let Mrs. Lindsey know! We need to keep our records up to date.

NOTE: ANY parent who goes on camping trips, DRIVES to outings and/or participates in any way with our scouts BSA requires all adults who participate in any program with our scouts to have Youth Protection Training. The training must be taken every two years. Go to Adult Leader Training for information on how to complete this training. This is a MUST HAVE if you are participating in any Troop 654 Activity. In addition, a copy of your Parts A & B must be on file with the Troop.

Annual Health and Medical Record

You can start filling it in as soon as you click here, print it, and save your data to your own computer. Once completed, please keep your original and make copies. Please give a copy of Part A and Part B to Randy Neal at the next Troop meeting.

New BSA Trip directives require the Troop have copies of these forms on hand for all Scouts at each Troop activity.

Access or download the entire new "Annual Health and Medical Record" form here. It is a "fillable" form and is a combination of previous forms required for various events. For additional details about this form click here.

In addition, Part C is required for Scouts attending Rodney Summer Camp, and Part D is required (in addition to Parts A, B & C) for Scouts attending Northern Tier in July 2012.

If you are new to Scouting, and your son has completed the fifth grade or is at least 11 years old (and not yet 18) we would like to invite him to come to one of our meetings and learn about the Boy Scouts and Troop!
