Youth safety is the No. 1 concern of the BSA

If anyone completed the Boy Scout Leader Specific training this month, please let Mrs. Lindsey know! We need to keep our records up to date.

And don't forget the Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills class being taught later this month. Classroom portion is on October 26 at Aldersgate. Overnight (outdoor/camping portion) is October 28-29 at the U.S. Coast Guard Station on Telegraph Road. To register, contact Dominick Caridi at DSCscouting@aol.com or 703-625-4196.

Also, coming up in November (Saturday the 19th) is another Boy Scout Leader Specific Training course at Aldersgate for those of you who missed it this month. Contact Dominick Caridi to register for this, as well.

NOTE: ANY parent who goes on camping trips, DRIVES to outings and/or participates in any way with our scouts BSA requires all adults who participate in any program with our scouts to have Youth Protection Training. The training must be taken every two years. Go to Adult Leader Training for information on how to complete this training. This is a MUST HAVE if you are participating in any Troop 654 Activity. In addition, a copy of your Parts A & B must be on file with the Troop.

Annual Health and Medical Record

You can start filling it in as soon as you click here, print it, and save your data to your own computer. Once completed, please keep your original and make copies. Please give a copy of Part A and Part B to Pat Hanson at the next Troop meeting.

New BSA Trip directives require the Troop have copies of these forms on hand for all Scouts at each Troop activity.

Access or download the entire new "Annual Health and Medical Record" form here. It is a "fillable" form and is a combination of previous forms required for various events. For additional details about this form click here.

In addition, Part C is required for Scouts attending Rodney Summer Camp, and Part D is required (in addition to Parts A, B & C) for Scouts attending Northern Tier in July 2012.

If you are new to Scouting, and your son has completed the fifth grade or is at least 11 years old (and not yet 18) we would like to invite him to come to one of our meetings and learn about the Boy Scouts and Troop!
