Which Summer Camp is Troop 654 going to and when?

Troop 654 has been going to Rodney Scout Reservation on the Chesapeak River in upper Maryland for the the past 5 years.  In 2009 we are going from June 28 - July 4. Some Troop 654 scouts can't make this week due to family vacations and go as "provisional campers" to Goshen or Powatan.

How do I become an Assistant Scout Master (ASM) or help out on the Troop Committee?

Speak with our Scoutmaster, John Carney, or any of the adult leaders and they will point you in the right direction based on your talents and desires.  The Troop is always in need of additional adult support.

Do I need a physical for Summer Camp – Rodney Scout Reservation or Goshen?

Yes.  A Class I Personal Health & Medical History Form, completed within the past 12 months, is required of all youth and adult participants staying less than 72 hours. This form must be updated, and signed, annually by all participants, or the participants parents if under 18 years old. Also see Class III instruction.

In addition, a Class II Personal Health & Medical History Form, with a record of a physical examination conducted by a licensed medical practitioner within the past 36 months is required of each youth and adult participant less than 40 years old, staying in camp for longer than 72 consecutive hours. Also see Class III instruction.

A Class III Personal Health and Medical History Form is required for all adult participants 40 years old and older staying in camp for more than 72 consecutive hours and any other youth or adult participant that is currently under medical care, takes a prescribed medication, requires a medically prescribed diet, has had an injury or illness in the past six months that limited activity for a week or more, has ever lost consciousness during physical activity, or suffered a concussion from a head injury. This form must show evidence of a physical examination conducted by a licensed medical practitioner within the past 12 months. All Scouts and adults will receive a medical screening soon after arrival at camp. No one will be able to stay in camp without the proper medical form. Please keep copies of these forms, so they can be used again for other activities.
